BioTrust Low Carb Protein Review

BioTrust Low Carb Protein Review

Pros: little carbs, tastes great, all natural, time release

Cons: smaller servings, have to order online

This is my BioTrust Low Carb protein review: Click Here for the BioTrust Low Carb official website

BioTrust is a new supplement company entering the online marketplace, and I was excited to review their new protein powder mostly because it was all natural and very low in carbohydrates. The company BioTrust has been receiving a ton of hype recently with their launch and I want to make sure that their protein powder was good enough to meet my approval. So as BioTrust opened for business I immediately placed an order for their Low Carb protein powder.

I’ve honestly tried around 100 different kinds of protein powders in my day with the vast majority of them either tasting like garbage, containing horrible ingredients and/or are way overpriced. I usually still get a few different kinds of protein powders per month in the mail from companies wanting me to try out their product. I’m usually always disappointed, and I would never recommend those horrible and underperforming protein powders to anybody that I know.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the package for my BioTrust Low Carb protein powder was that the container was pretty small. I’m a pretty big guy at 6’3” and over 200 pounds so I usually consume a lot of the stuff over the course of a month. Since I would require more servings than the average person I went ahead and ordered two containers so that they would last me the entire month. Although, I would think for most people they wouldn’t need quite this much in the same time frame.

After mixing my first serving of the Low Carb protein I found that it mixed pretty well in my shaker cup and that there wasn’t any weird residue left behind. This may sound strange, but I have seen quite a few protein powders on the market that are so packed with artificial ingredients that they leave a strange residue behind them. One of the reasons BioTrust Low Carb won me over is because they have no artificial ingredients, and instead use stevia to naturally sweeten their products. At first I was also concerned that this wouldn’t taste very good because some all-natural supplements have it rough getting the taste down because they can’t load it with sugar. I was happy to find that the protein tasted really well mixed with good old-fashioned water, and I didn’t need to put anything extra and like fruit to make it taste better.

The taste of any protein powder is very critical because if it tastes like dirt then you’re not going to want to use it, and if you don’t want to use it then you just wasted a lot of your money. So even though BioTrust’s Low Carb protein powder doesn’t contain any artificial sweeteners or sugars they still manage to make a great tasting product that I found myself craving for throughout the day. Just to let you know that the protein also tastes very good when combined with other supplements such as Athletic Greens and fruit. I also sometimes like to toss in 3/4 cup of wild organic blueberries to add in some antioxidants and flavor to any protein that I have.

Another gripe that I had with BioTrust is the protein powder is only available online so you can’t just walk down to your local nutrition shop and pick up a tub of it. Sometimes I’m so busy that it’s hard for me to plan ahead so placing an order online well before I finish the protein powder doesn’t happen too often. I also never like paying for shipping and handling so this also held me back from ordering more BioTrust Low Carb. With these small gripes aside I found that it’s really a good idea to go ahead and set myself reminders to order it every month because I really enjoy the taste and it has the lowest amount of carbohydrates compared to any other protein powder on the market that’s all-natural.

So why is it so important that you consume a low carbohydrate protein powder? If you’re trying to lose fat then controlling your carb intake is going to be very very important because too many carbs essentially equals more fat gain. Also the BioTrust Low Carb protein powder has only 1g sugar which somehow found its way in there along with the 24g of protein per serving. Also keep in mind that their protein contains 4g of high quality fiber, which will also help to enhance your fat burning metabolism.

Another benefit I found using BioTrust Low Carb was the digestive enzyme blend they’ve included called ProHydrolase, which will enhance your body’s ability to breakdown the protein so it can more easily get absorbed and sent into the muscle. I’ve never seen another protein powder that also contained an enzyme blend to enhance that the digestive process. So if you have an underperforming digestive tract then I’d definitely give BioTrust Low Carb a try, and even if you don’t then you’ll reap the benefits of having these included in your protein powder.

One thing I tell my clients all the time it is that you pay for what you get. If you want a hire a dirt cheap trainer you can expect dirt cheap results as well. There is a reason that the best people in the world charge a lot for what they do and this protein powder is no different. Yes it’s all more expensive than most protein powders on the market. But it’s also loaded with all natural ingredients and it’s processed the best way possible. If you go to Target or Walmart looking for protein powder you’ll find most of those cheap proteins have been denatured from high heat processing. This essentially means that the protein your consuming has severely dropped in quality since it was heated so high.

Overall I found that I really like BioTrust is low-carb protein powder and there’s not a shadow of doubt in my mind that I would recommend it to all of my clients. It’s really a great protein powder and it’s worth the extra trouble to order it online. It tastes great, is all natural, low in carbohydrates and as an added bonus it comes in a cool blue container. Out of all the protein powders are tried over the past decade or so I found this one by BioTrust to be the best overall, and I’m confident this is the one I would be using for years to come.

Dark Side of Fat Loss Review

dark-side-of-fat-loss-reviewIn this Dark Side of Fat Loss review I’m going to share with you my personal thoughts on the program created by Sean Croxton of Underground Wellness.  If you’re unaware who Croxton he’s a CHEK Certified Holistic Lifestyle Coach as well as a Functional Diagnostic Nutritionist.  I first came across Croxton on YouTube and I was immediately impressed with both his passion and knowledge for an underground approach to a healthy lifestyle.

I personally purchased the Dark Side of Fat Loss when it was first released and after pouring over every piece of information I can honestly tell you this is one of, if not the most complete, nutrition packages I’ve seen being released on the internet.  The thing I really love about the book is that Croxton writes likes he’s talking with his best friend and even though there are a few “big” words in the book he explains it so even a 10 year old can comprehend it.

I’ve read a lot of health books in my day and I’ll be honest when I tell you the majority of them stand on a podium and talk down to the reader but with the Dark Side of Fat Loss I found this clearly wasn’t the case.  The book starts off with Croxton discussing how everything he learned in college was totally WRONG and after a long time of frustratingly disappointing results with his clients he finally decided to find an alternative route to fat loss.

Conventional theories on fat loss such as calories in equals calories out and slow-go cardio turned out to be complete B.S. and I will agree with that 100%.  Starving your body while jogging on the treadmill for an hour today isn’t going to produce the results you’re looking for if you’re goal is fat loss.  In fact, I consider it to be a borderline torture!

My 100% Honest Dark Side of Fat Loss Review

Croxton even admits that his own diet and exercise lifestyles were getting out of control.  Even though he was following the so-called health experts advice he was depressed, angry and severely lacked energy.

If you’ve been a reader of my blog for anytime I’m sure you’ll know that I’m totally against the whole calories in calories out garbage.  Even if you lose some weight from starving yourself on a 1,000 calorie a day diet you won’t be able to keep it up for long term and most people end up right back where they started or even worse they end up gaining a few pounds.

I wanted to make it clear in this Dark Side of Fat Loss review that it isn’t the amount of calories you’re taking in that’s necessarily the problem but the kinds of calories that makes all the difference.  You see different food are going to cause different hormonal responses from your body and this is what makes a huge difference in why some people burn fat and others gain fat.

Diet Components for this Dark Side of Fat Loss Review

In the Dark Side of Fat Loss the author is a adamant supporter of the caveman diet and simply tells you that if the food you’re eating wasn’t around 10,000 years ago then don’t eat it!  Other simple nutrition instructions include if you can’t pronounce an ingredient then don’t eat it and if it comes in a box or bag then don’t eat it.

But don’t think the Dark Side of Fat Loss is just going to leave you hanging there because they’re also including the Dark Side of Fat Loss Cookbook which includes a ton of recipes as well as instructional videos on how to cook most of them.  I know that I’m no wizard in the kitchen so the Cookbook actually turned out to be one of the most important components of the Dark Side of Fat Loss.

In addition to the in depth nutritional information Croxton also digs a little deeper at some of the other causes of why we put on fat and can’t seem to get it off.  Many of these reasons are also why we can’t sleep well at night, have digestive issues and are stressed out of our mines.  He introduces a lot of concepts that will have you not only burning more fat but living a healthier and happier lifestyle.

Workout Manual for this Dark Side of Fat Loss review

And in case you were wondering I also wanted to mention in this Dark Side of Fat Loss review that there is a workout manual that’s also available that was created by Brett Klika.  Once you purchase the  Dark Side of Fat Loss you’ll be given a special opportunity to pick it up.  Klika has years and years of training experience behind him and he’s on the presenters circuit for personal training conventions as well as being nominated for personal trainer of the year.

I would recommend picking up the workout manual in addition to the Dark Side of Fat Loss because even though you’ll burn a ton of fat just by doing the nutrition program you’l take it up to another level with the easy to follow and practically done for you workout training manual.

Overall I’ve found the Dark Side of Fat Loss to be a fresh a breath air when it comes to fat loss and goes against what most of the media has wrongly been imprinting into our minds for decades about nutrition and exercise.  I had a great time reading both manuals for this Dark Side of Fat Loss review and I hope it’s given you some clarity if this program is for you.

Athletic Greens Review

Read This Athletic Greens Review Before You Decide To Buy

In my Athletic Greens review I’m going to give you and overview along with my thoughts on this greens supplement.  My goal by the time you’re done reading this Athletic Greens review to know exactly whether or not the supplement is for you and if it’s worth investing your money into it.

This Is My Athletic Greens Review: Click Here For The Official Athletic Greens Website

I first came across the Athletic Greens supplement from the recommendation of a friend and after hearing him rave about it I decided to pull the trigger and go ahead and get some.  Like any supplement you’re going to go into it with some level of skepticism but I was sure to do my homework and everything in this greens supplement looked like the real deal.

I’ve tried a couple different greens supplements before but none of them seemed to keep me coming back for more.  Either I wasn’t impressed by the ingredients or the taste and to put it simply I just didn’t feel like it was worth my money.  I was shocked at how impressive Athletic Greens was in regards to the ingredients inside it was well as the taste too.

To be completely honest with you drinking Athletic Greens isn’t going to be like downing a chocolate milkshake but after a few times I became totally used to the taste and I actually started to crave it in the mornings.  The most immediate improvement I saw from taking Athletic Greens was the dramatic and sudden increase in my energy levels after taking it.

The Benefits Found In My Athletic Greens Review

The big reason why you’re going to get that energy boost is because the raw green superfoods inside are going to help alkalize your blood and thus help boost your energy levels.  The reason we want to alkalize our bodies is because we’re usually consuming WAY too many acidic foods which can lead to a blood pH imbalance that will drain our energy levels.  Athletic Greens provides a powerful alkaline punch because of the raw green superfoods it contains as well as all the enzymes in it too.

The next thing I want to go over in my Athletic Greens review is what is actually in this greens supplement.  I know a lot of my readers are currently on a diet or they have specific nutrition requirements so I’m going to go right out there and say a huge advantage of this greens supplement is that it is extremely diet friendly as it contains NO GMO’s (Genetically Modified Organisms), yeast, peanuts, animal products, herbicides, pesticides, synthetic chemicals, artificial colors/flavors, preservatives, sweeteners, egg, wheat, dairy, gluten, corn, lactose, sucrose or dextrose.

That’s incredible!  If you go to any supplement store and try to find a similar greens product like this then you’ll surely find at least some of the above ingredients in it.  By not including any of those above foods you’re going to be able to keep your body in the best natural state possible while getting a huge influx of healthy nutritional foods.

As a fitness trainer myself I see a lot of my clients and people who I meet in general who have digestive issues.  They can’t digest their foods properly which leads to diarrhea, burping and upset stomachs and a big reason for this is because they don’t have enough healthy digestive bacteria in their system and also because their blood is too acidic.

I’ve already talked about how awesome Athletic Greens is at naturally alkalizing your body but each serving of the greens supplement also contains 7 billion different strains of healthy digestive bacteria in the form of lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidobacterium bifidum.  These are considered probiotics and they’re job is to help to naturally digest foods and a huge benefit of this is the increase in nutrient absorption from the healthy foods you’re eating.

Because if you can’t digest it properly then you’re not going to get all the nutrients in your body so you’re pretty much wasting your money then.  Other dairy free probiotics that are included in Athletic Greens are papaya, broccoli, cherry powder, carrot, pineapple, carob and natural vanilla.

Another benefit I found while researching for this Athletic Greens review is the high amount of antioxidants that are inside it which will not only help to super boost your immune system but they also destroy damage causing free radicals the wreak havoc throughout your body.  After carefully reading through the Athletic Greens ingredient list I was excited to see that just one serving has the same antioxidant equivalent to 10-12 servings of fruits and veggies.  Now that’s impressive!

I used to have to pay out for another antioxidant supplement in addition to the other greens supplements that I was taking before but after switching over to Athletic Greens I’m able to get more than enough antioxidants in just one serving of the greens supplement.  Killing two birds with one stone!

Another big benefit that comes with Athletic Greens is that it’s super absorbable by the body which will allow you to take in more of the nutrient dense ingredients that are inside it.  This is mostly due to the natural digestive enzymes, probiotics and prebiotics that are included in the greens supplement which naturally work synergestically to improve digestion and gastrointestinal functioning.

Also I’m a huge a fan of Athletic Greens being in powder form because most tablets and pill capsules are much harder to properly digest.  Also not to mention that most pills are heat pressed which will denature and/or destroy the nutrients inside the formula.  This will lead you to just peeing and pooping out all the healthy nutrients you just put into your body and it’s literally like throwing your money down the toilet.

Final Thoughts In My Athletic Greens Review

The only thing I believe which will hold people back from pulling the trigger and investing in Athletic Greens is the price.  I want to make it clear in my Athletic Greens review that it may look like a big upfront cost but if you break it down it’s only going to cost you $2.60 per day.  That’s cheaper than most people’s daily trip to Starbucks!  If you’re serious about your health then you have to realize the quality of the ingredients inside Athletic Greens and look at all the awesome benefits you’re going to get by taking it.

And when you do decide to get Athletic Greens they have an incredible 60 day money back guarantee so even if you take the entire greens supplement and then decide it’s not for you then you can go ahead and return it and get your money back.  That’s a great day.  It’s like going out to a nice dinner, ordering anything you want, eating it all and then deciding if it’s worth paying the bill or not.

In the end, I’ve found Athletic Greens to be my #1 nutritional insurance and even though I’m eating healthy the majority of the time it’s still important to fill any extra gaps in my diet.  The 76 nutrient dense natural ingredients found in Athletic Greens will prevent me from seeing any nutrient deficiencies so I can maximize my health and energy levels.

Now that you’ve read my entire Athletic Greens review it’s time to take action by investing in the best greens supplement known to mankind.  Click the link below to go to the next step…

Fat Burning Furnace Review

fat burning furnace review

Official Website:

fat burning furnace review

I’m going to dive head first into the Fat Burning Furnace review and tell you everything you need to know about this popular fat loss system.  The Fat Burning Furnace was created by Rob Poulos and he is a fitness professional whose expertise is in the weight loss area.

He used to be overweight as well and transformed his body in 12 weeks by losing 42 lbs. and 10 inches off of his waist.  The big thing about losing weight is that it’s not as important as the inches you’re losing off of your belly.  The reason you want to lower your inches around your belly is because you will be burning more fat and building lean muscle (which will burn more fat!).

Poulos’ took the same techniques he used to massively transform his body and started using them with his own clients.  The system they discovered was confirmed to be effective when their clients started to burn belly fat fast too.  So he decided to package together the program and I’m going to give you the complete low-down on the product with my Fat Burning Furnace review.

My Fat Burning Furnace Review

The Fat Burning Furnace is a downloadable digital ebook so you can have instant access to it right away and it is 151 pages long.  The program contains training programs as well as diets and recipes in addition to his general fat burning system.

To put the Fat Burning Furnace program in a nutshell Poulos’ advises that we shouldn’t focus on lowering calories or going on low-fat/low-carb diets because in the end they’ll cause more damage then what they’re worth.

The only way to lose belly fat is going to be to eat the right foods at the right time and in the right amounts.  In addition to the included training program, then nutrition guide is designed to increase your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) which will in effect keep your body burning calories throughout the day.

The training and nutrition programming in the Fat Burning Furnace work synergistcally to boost your metabolism meaning you’ll be burning fat and also building lean muscle.  The reason you want to build lean muscle is to not only tone up your body but also because muscle naturally burns even more calories.

Gotta Talk About The Training Program In My Fat Burning Furnace Review

Poulos is rightfully an advocate of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) for fat loss and the majority of his exercise programming is based around it.  He doesn’t recommend wasting your time on the elliptical to burn fat and frankly I don’t neither.

I wanted to point out in my Fat Burning Furnace review that resistance training is going to make up the bulk of the exercise programming.  This is because you’re going to want to build muscle to burn fat and the only way to really do that is by lifting weights.

You’re not going to need much equipment for the workouts as you can do all the main exercises with just a pair of cheap dumbbells right at your own home.  You’re also not going to have to be working out all day as all the workouts will take less than 45 minutes to complete.

But you’re also not going to be doing easy biceps curls in the Fat Burning Furnace workout program because Poulos is recommending doing compound exercises  to train as many muscle groups as possible.  This is easily the most effective way to build lean muscle and raise your RMR.

Don’t worry if you’re not a natural fitness nut like Richard Simmons because in the Fat Burning Furnace book you’ll have detailed pictures and descriptions of all the exercises as well as a video demonstrations.

Fat Burning Furnace Review: Nutrition Programming Overview

In the nutrition program in the Fat Burning Furnace the author takes a unique view of the program by not entirely focusing on the macronutrient intake (protein, carbs and fats) but instead talking more about the importance of micronutrients.

He goes into each of the main macronutrients and lets you know which versions of each of them you should be eating and which ones you shouldn’t to maximally raise your metabolism.  He also takes a unique view on consuming too many acidic foods which will cause a pH imbalance in your body resulting in fat gain.

Sample nutrition programs and lists of healthy foods are presented in the Fat Burning Furnace so there won’t be any questions on what you should be consuming.  Poulos also emphasizes the importance of the Thermogenic Effect of Food (TEF) and shows you how to specifically place your meals apart to maximize fat burning through your elevated RMR.

Anything else I need to know in this Fat Burning Furnace Review?

Poulos finishes out the program by discussing other little known factors that are needed for fast fat loss such as sleeping, stress reduction and a powerful positive mindset.  I believe these well overlooked elements to rapid fat loss are essential for permanent and a happy fat free life.  If you’re getting enough sleep and have reduced stress in your life you’re going to lose a lot more fat so much faster.

The Pros Found While Researching This Fat Burning Furnace Review
  • Detailed training program that doesn’t require the use of expensive equipment or gym membership
  • Short but effective workouts that you can do at home
  • Includes outlined meal plans
  • Focuses on eating healthy foods at the right times instead of cutting calories or macronutrients
  • Works great for both men and women
  • Instantly downloadable with a money back guarantee
The Cons Found While Researching This Fat Burning Furnace Review
  • Has a few too many unwelcomed plugs for supplements, which is a great company but you don’t need them to succeed at the program
  • Not for people who prefer long cardio sessions in their workouts
  • You have to buy the Deluxe version to get the exercise videos…wish they included them with the basic package
  • Have to pay extra for the physical version

Wrapping Up This Fat Burning Furnace Review

Overall the Fat Burning Furnace program is a solid and effective system for fast and permanent fat loss.  Instead of focuses on tricks to lose weight the author instead places emphasis on resistance training and proper nutrition.  When searching for my Fat Burning Furnace review you may have saw that I can no longer endorse Rob Poulos because the truth is that I’m bumping it up to an emphatic recommendation!

The program shows you how to naturally increase your RMR so you can continually burn fat but also tone up your body so you’re not left with the dreaded “Skinny Fat” syndrome.  Overall this is a pretty awesome program that I would recommend to anybody looking to burn fat fast and keep it off for good.

Truth About Abs Review

Read My Truth About Abs Review

In my Truth About Abs review I’m going to tell you my thoughts on this complete training program that was created by Mike Geary.  The Truth About Abs, also known as The Truth About Six Pack Abs is one of the first digital products that I ever purchased over the internet and I haven’t regretted it since.

It’s been quite a few years since I’ve purchased my original copy but everything inside of it still applies today and everything I’ve learned from the Truth About Abs book has influenced my own style of training and nutrition.

I honestly had never really heard of Mike Geary before so I was a little skeptical about the program overall but after hearing a recommendation from a friend for the program I decided to go ahead and take action on purchasing my own copy.

The main point behind The Truth About Abs is that author Mike Geary doesn’t try to sell you on a quick fix workout program that will suddenly solve all of your problems as fat melts completely off of your body.  Instead he offers the truth to leaning out your abs and it doesn’t involve doing a thousands of sit-ups per day.

The Truth About Abs Review: Nutrition

He acknowledges how important diet is to getting the fat loss results that you want and it’s so critical that he devotes the first half of the book strictly to nutrition.  And he doesn’t offer the same regurgitated nutrition advice such as the Food Pyramid and all that junk.

Instead he offers a more unique taking on nutrition and just about everything he discusses in this section will help you get toned abs faster than doing sit-ups until the sun goes down.  He also firmly states in the book that if you can’t handle eating healthier than all the exercise in the world isn’t going to make a difference.  To lose fat you’re going to have to get your nutrition under control and there’s no way around it.

Geary starts off the Truth About Abs by firmly stating the importance of your diet and how it is critical if you want to develop lean abs.  Most people unfortunately have it wrong because they think you can use specific abdominal exercises to spot-reduce the fat on your stomach, but this is definitely not the truth.  The truth is you first have to put a ton of focus into your nutrition and make sure you’re eating the foods that will help you burn fat rather than put it on.

The nutrition section in the Truth About Abs manual also directly tells the reader to avoid grains and unhealthy carbohydrates to reduce stomach fat.  Keep your blood sugar and insulin levels is a key reason why some people have lean abs and why some people carry a lot of stomach fat.  He goes on to say you should avoid the foods that cause your blood sugar to spike including:

  • refined processed carbohydrates
  • white bread
  • pasta
  • white potatoes
  • ice cream
  • bananas
  • cakes
  • baked goods
Instead of eating these bad carbohydrates it will be much more important to focus on slow digesting foods that are rich in protein and will not cause your blood sugar to spike.  Some of these slower digesting proteins that Geary recommends includes:
  • eggs
  • meat
  • cottage cheese
  • casein blend protein powder

I also wanted to make sure I made note of the authors stance against fad diets in my Truth About Abs review because as a personal trainer and nutritionist I hate seeing people jump from diet to diet with yo-yo results.  While Geary is definitely against consuming the bad carbohydrates he is also firmly against a low-carb diet such as the Atkins.  There are many healthy alternatives to carbohydrates consumption that the author makes sure you’re aware of such as vegetables and low-glycemic fruits.

“EATING FAT DOES NOT MAKE YOU FAT!” says Geary who basically just kicked any low-fat diet in the crotch with that bold statement.  So called experts have long been adamant for a low-fat/high-carbohydrate diet since the 1980’s and since then the obesity, cancer and heart disease rates have only risen.  Animal fats also should not be avoided while following the Truth About Abs as long as it is from organic grass-fed animals that are free-range.

Even though you may be following some of the healthy foods on Geary’s list for the Truth About Abs you have to also make sure that the food you’re consuming is in its most natural and unprocessed state which the author states is the way we were meant to eat food.  Eating foods that have refined flour, refined sugar, refined vegetable oils all are leaded causes towards obesity and heart disease.

Truth About Abs Review: Training Principles

But this isn’t to say that he doesn’t give any abdominal training strategies throughout the book.  I had to mention in this Truth About Abs review the high quality of information Mike Geary provides when it comes to training for a toned stomach.

Even though most of us would like to prefer the easy way of just doing an abdominal workout routine a few times a week Mike Geary knows better and he says this explicitly in The Truth About Abs.

He offers training advice that most of us wouldn’t like to hear but it’s information that we need to hear if we ever plan on transforming our bodies.  Because the truth about abs is to do more total body resistance training exercise combined with high intensity interval training to increase your metabolic rate and then you’ll lose fat rapidly.

He goes in depth about these training principles in the Truth About Abs but I also liked how he didn’t make anything seem like it was too complex.  Most of the fitness trainers who write books for the average Joe’s write down to them and start using all of these crazy fancy big words to make themselves sound smart.  As I read deeper into the Truth About Abs I realized it felt more like a friend was explaining this information to me rather than some snooty fitness diva.

Overall I’m extremely satisfied with investing in The Truth About Abs and I can say that it has helped shape my own philosophies on nutrition and training for fat loss.  There aren’t too many quality all around programs out there when it comes to fat loss but I can happily say in my Truth About Abs review that this one delivers.
