My Gymboss Review: Is It Worth Your $$?

Even though I’ve had my own for about a year now I’ve been meaning to do this Gymboss review for a while since I hear so many questions about the timer.  I first received my Gymboss Interval Timer as a Christmas gift from a friend of mine who’s also really into fitness and health.  At first I wasn’t quite sure what to think of it and in the back of my mind I was wondering if I just got screwed out of a Christmas present, but things changed as I started playing around with it. Training in timed intervals a terrific method for your workouts and it’s actually a lot easier than counting reps and sets all the time.  Also you won’t take any more 5 minute rest breaks when somebody starts talking to you or you catch something interesting on TV.  The Gymboss timer is a really simple device that you can pretty much just set it and forget it to time your workouts in intervals. So let’s say you’re going to do the Spartacus Workout then all you have to do is set the Gymboss Interval Timer to 50 seconds ON and 10 seconds OFF.  And once you press start the Gymboss will automatically keep track of the intervals for you so all you have to do is listen for the beep or wait until it vibrates.

My Gymboss Interval Timer Review: Why I Like It

I used to use my digital watch (G-Shock) and even though that got the job done I was still distracted from my exercises because I had to keep looking down at my watch every 5-10 seconds.  Also when I would do the workouts on my own it’s so much harder to stay motivated but when the timer went off I knew I didn’t have a choice but to keep on going.  The accountability factor alone is worth the investment of this thing. I also want to mention in this Gymboss Interval Timer review that it is really lightweight and compact so I wasn’t carrying around this big bulky timer with me.  It was a little difficult to use at first but then I forced myself to read the brief instruction manual and it was pretty darn easy to set after that. I use the Gymboss timer pretty much every day and not just for my own workouts but also for my boot camps and training sessions.  I actually even go so far as recommend it for my clients when they do their own workouts.  It’s pretty darn cool to bring it with you when you travel because it doesn’t take up any space at all.

Some of the problems I wanted to talk about in my Gymboss review was that it can beep pretty loud at times.  It can get a little awkward in the gym when people are staring at you thinking the Gymboss is an explosive device.  But once I figured out how to put it on vibrate that problem went away fast. Overall I’m very happy with my Gymboss Interval Timer and I still thank my friend to this day who gave it to me.  I use it all the time and I always seem to be carrying it around with me in my pocket.  People at the gym are always curiously asking me about it and I’ll give them the low down until my time runs out!
