A big question I’ve been surprised to get lately is how to get rid of man boobs and today I want to shed some light on why guys get the dreaded man boobs and what they can do to get rid of them for good.  Man boobs are probably one of the most unattractive things that guys can have on their bodies and if they’re trying to get a date, it’s not going to make things any easier.

In some ways they’re doing things that only make their man boobs grow and doing workouts that aren’t going to do a damn thing to get rid of them.  If you’re having a hard time getting things going take a look at my Xtreme Fat Loss Diet Review but hopefully after reading this you guys will have a realistic battle plan to take down your man boobs.

Ok, so the obvious reason guys have man boobs is because they’re overweight and tend to hold a lot of fat into their breast area.  And that’s the simple answer but it goes a lot deeper than that.  Guys can have man boobs from having too much estrogen in their bodies (and girls who have too much also hold a lot of weight in their breasts, hips and thighs).

The HUGE problem is that most guys who have higher levels of estrogen don’t even know it.  Unless you prefer going to nail salon over watching the Super Bowl…

The biggest enemy you’re going to have to watch out for is soy.  Soy and all of it’s by-products are laced with phytoestrogens which will obviously want to dominate our man-boobs annihilator hormone, testosterone.  Some people will argue that guys have enough testosterone to safely combat the estrogens found in soy and other foods, but I totally disagree with this.  Because the last thing I’m going to do is drink soy milk when doctors recommend it for menopausal women to increase their estrogen levels.  Taking in soy is great for older females but not for guys who DON’T want man boobs.

Also be sure to avoid any non-organic fed meats from everything such as cows, chickens, turkeys, bison, etc.  The non-organic feed that these animals are fed are loaded with phytoestrogens and the estrogens get stored into every part of the animal.  Be sure to also look for beef from grass-fed cows and organic vegetarian feed for chickens.  This also goes for organic dairy products and produce.  This is the time when you’re going to want to spend the couple extra bucks to get the organic foods…

Sugar and yeast are also going to cause increased estrogen levels in your body and should be avoided at best.  Too much sugar is going to lead to insulin resistance and unbalanced levels of estrogen and progesterone.  The big challenge is that many people who have high estrogen levels also CRAVE sugar…have you ever met a girl who didn’t love sugar?

This is one that’s going to hit guys hard, you’re going to have to lay off the booze.  Drinking alcohol is going to increase you estrogen levels while simulatneously shut off your immune system.  This is going to lead to imbalances in your hormones and will only help pack on the man boobs.  Also be sure to not drink too much tap water (since it has estrogen compounds) as well as taking in too many omega-6 vegetable oils.

As for foods to take in that will boost your natural testosterone levels I would do the following:

  • Eat only organic meats, dairy and poultry
  • STOP taking in all soy products
  • No more processed foods, focus on whole foods instead
  • Start taking in some Maca (proven to block and control estrogen levels)
  • Zinc has also been proven to raise testosterone levels (take in 50-100mg a day)
  • De-stress you life by getting to bed early and getting at least 8 hours of sleep & start doing some meditation
  • Lift heavy weights and do more sprinting
  • Eat more cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, brussel sprouts and cauliflower
  • Eat more whole eggs (don’t throw out the yolks!)
  • Take in a good amount of monounsaturated fats and some saturated fats such as avocados, red meat, nuts, seeds, olive oil, flax oil

So lay off all the stupid creams and stuff and just get too work living a healthier lifestyle.  Do the things I recommend above and stop doing the ones that will give you man boobs.  Start lifting heavier weights and do some more HIIT.  Also be sure to check out my top ways to lose belly fat blog post I did.  I hope you now know how to get rid of man boobs and you’ll get to work and start taking action.

    Hey Josh – do you know anything about women taking Maca for fat loss/muscle building, or is it really just beneficial for men?

      Hey Kathy, I wasn’t sure about the answer to your question so I did a little research and found this… “So far, we have not heard of any serious Maca contra-indications. It can, however, make men and women more fertile. And, to be safe, we do not recommend taking it while pregnant or nursing, although many Peruvian women do. Maca can also effect the menstruation cycle of young women (16 yrs to 30 years old) who eat a lot of maca for a long time. It can speed up the cycle. Once the Maca dose is lowered or stopped the cycle returns to normal. Maca root can also provide too much energy if taken late in the day. People who have had thyroid surgery or on medications can become jittery on it. As always, consult your doctor if there are any important issues. “
