Want to know the benefits of vitamin d that can help you to lose visceral belly fat, get stronger, live longer and keep your brain optimally performing?
Unless you’re living in the southern hemisphere then like most of us you’re probably still feeling the effects of the dark and cold winter months.
I’m sure you’ve noticed most people don’t seem to have the same amount of energy and enthusiasm as they do when the sun is shining. This is because the lack of sunshine totally kills our Vitamin D levels.
Benefits of Vitamin D – Burn Visceral Belly Fat
And new research has found a correlation between Vitamin D deficiency and increased levels of visceral belly fat in the body.
Visceral belly fat is located deep down inside the abdominal cavity and it surrounds your organs. This is the kind of belly fat that makes your stomach stick out farther and it’s also links to having a much greater risk of disease and health problems.
The study which was published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found taking a Vitamin D supplement for 16 weeks produced a BIG decrease in belly fat with participants losing an average of 5.4 pounds over the course of the study.
That’s pretty darn impressive when you think about it because they lost those 5.4 pounds without any other dietary intervention or additional exercise!
Why We Need The Benefits Of Vitamin D
Considering researchers at Oregon State University also found 70% of Americans are deficient everybody should be supplementing with Vitamin D.
A study in American Geriatrics also discovered those who were deficient in Vitamin D also had a decrease in lean muscle meaning they had what is considered a poor body composition.
As we age it becomes even more important to supplement with Vitamin D because our receptors in our muscle cells become less and less responsive.
Vitamin D can be synthesized by the body when you have exposure to sunlight in response to the ultraviolet light or it can be taken in from the diet.
Yet there’s a HUGE problem when the winter months come because there’s no dang sun!
So it makes it even more important to make sure you’re getting enough of this powerful vitamin to not only reduce belly fat but to also make sure you’re health is at optimal levels.
Additional Health Benefits of Vitamin D
Some of the other health benefits of Vitamin D include improved bone health, increased muscle strength, increased muscle power and force, lean body mass, blood sugar regulation, cancer prevention, asthma treatment, cardiovascular health, reproductive health and improvements in depression.
Be sure to supplement with 5,000 IUs of Vitamin D3 and I always prefer getting 30-60 minutes of daily sun exposure instead. Although when that’s not possible I take Vitamin D3 as may failsafe.
There aren’t too many supplements out there you should be taking but the overwhelming research out there on the benefits of Vitamin D is more than enough evidence to include it into your diet.
