Get ready to discover a few of my best tips to prevent unnecessary aging so you can keep staying young…
Baseball great Derek Jeter recently played his final game in a 20 year career that will undoubtedly put him in the Hall of Fame.
I remember I was still a kid when Jeter first started playing and it’s really crazy how fast time flies.
Then it got me thinking how much aging will eventually catch up to every single one of us whether we like it or not.
But maybe there’s something we can do to prevent unnecessarily aging faster than we have to.
The thing is there are so many who are causing themselves to age prematurely and don’t even know it.
If only they made a couple of these simple lifestyle changes they could look younger, have more energy and keep that aging clock ticking a little slower than everyone else.
So I compiled some of my favorite anti-aging strategies we can all implement to stay young.
Increase Natural HGH
HGH (Human Growth Hormone) is a hormone that has been referred to as “the fountain of youth.” We have a lot of when we’re young but it gradually goes away as we age.
Some bad lifestyle choices make it decrease exponentially quicker than it naturally should.
The high amounts of HGH produced in your body when you’re young helps make you leaner, heal faster and have high bone density.
Once you start losing your production of HGH as you age your muscle mass goes down, your body fat goes up and your bone density goes down.
All the known effects of “aging.”
*Note: Ladies don’t worry about the natural HGH we’re talking about that you have in your body causing you to turn into a muscle-bound bodybuilder. It doesn’t work like that.
I wouldn’t recommend taking HGH medications/supplements because there are a lot of side effects that come along with them without much research to back it up.
The best way you can naturally increase your HGH levels is to get more sleep.
Your body produces HGH in the pituitary gland while you’re sleeping so the less sleep you’re getting the worse off you’ll be.
I try to make sure I’m asleep before 11pm and try to get a solid 8 hours.
Anaerobic exercise, such as weight lifting and high intensity interval training are also ways to naturally increase HGH. Living a proactive life that doesn’t require so much sitting will also help.
The Anti-aging Diet
Bad diet practices will cause you to age prematurely.
Avoiding insulin spikes caused by sugar and fast-digesting carbohydrates is key to an anti-aging diet.
That means no more Flaming Hot Cheetos, bagels and Strawberry Shortcakes.
I’d also steer clear of foods that cause inflammation in your body and stick mostly with whole, fresh and nutrient dense foods.
Eating foods that are antioxidant rich and hormone free will also help to keep you staying young.
Everybody should be taking an Omega-3 supplement to reduce the inflammation in your body.
I like Omega-Krill 5X by Biotrust Nutrition because it contains more DHA/EPA than fish oil, it’s more bioavailable (you can absorb more of it) and it contains the powerful antioxidant Astaxanthin.
Stay Stress Free
Ok ok, it’s impossible to stay stress free but that doesn’t mean we can’t work to reduce the chaos in our lives.
This means removing the things that cause physical and emotional stress to you.
Avoiding negative people can really free yourself up from stressing out.
Letting go of wrongs of your childhood, the demons you have lurking deep down and all your past regrets will free you from a ton of emotional baggage.
Getting rid of those things really takes a lot of work but I can promise you that you’ll feel like a new person once you’ve eliminated them.
Even try meditating for just 10 minutes a day to clear your mind so you are better in control of your thoughts.
Ever feel like your mind is racing a mile a minute?
Just sitting down and focusing on your breathing will allow you to gradually clear your mind.
Stay Young at Heart
Having a youthful and exuberant mindset will be the catalyst to stay young.
Be playful, have some fun, don’t take things too seriously and don’t be afraid to open yourself up.
What’s the use of preventing aging if all we’re going to do is make ourselves miserable?
Following some of these tips will not only help you stay young but it’ll also help you become happy…and stay that way.
