Why Can’t I Lose Weight?
There most likely has been a time in your life (and it could be today) when he asked the question, “ why can’t I lose weight?” The answer to this question really comes down to one thing, and one thing only.
Most people already know the answer to this question, but unfortunately they don’t want to admit it to themselves. It’s a lot easier to blame their busy life, their kids, their job or their economic status. Although at the end of the day this is 100% baloney.
If you’ve ever had trouble losing weight it’s most likely because you didn’t do this one thing. We all know how to lose weight, and the basics apply to every one. For even how simple it is most just never seem to get the results that they truly want.

Ready to know what that one thing is?
It’s the willingness to continually and consistently change one’s habits. You can try all the fad diets and extreme workout programs that you can, but if you’re not sticking to it then you’re most likely going to end up right back where you started. The most powerful force in the universe is the will to change your bad habits in the good ones, but unfortunately for most they just don’t have what it takes.
It’s easy when you’re starting off in a new workout and/or diet program to get all excited for your future results, and everything actually seems pretty easy at first. Sooner than later your motivation will start to decline as you get more use to and board with the diet you’re on. Then it’s only a matter time before you start binging on junk food and skipping workouts to watch some prime time TV.
I’ll be the first one to admit it’s a lot more fun to eat pizza and sleep in everyday. Eventually you’ll just have to stand up and stick with something once and for all. We all know eating healthy foods and working out just about every day is what it takes to lose weight. So why is it so hard?
The Real Reason You Can’t Lose Weight
The reason that it’s so hard to lose weight is because most people just don’t have what it takes to stick with it long term. Yeah it’s going to be hard having the wake-up an hour or two early to go to the gym, and it’s also going to be very hard to spend an hour or two at night preparing meals for the rest of the week. The rules of success are the same for everybody, and they’re a pain the ass.

If being successful was easy then we’d see a lot more hot millionaires walking around. You’re going to have to dig down deep inside of yourself and truly commit to changing your unhealthy lifestyle habits and converting them once and for all into good ones. There’s no two ways about it as this is what separates those who lose weight permanently and the ones who are known as the “rebound weight gainers.”
Tips If You Can’t Lose Weight
There are a few things I will recommend if you can’t seem to lose weight. One is that I would recommend increasing your social circle by asking a reliable friend to work out with you, and embark on a healthier eating program with you as well. It will be important to keep each other accountable throughout the first 30 to 60 days because this is when habits are the hardest to form. Keep a careful eye out for that partner though because once they start to slack off on the program and they are not willing to get back on the horse it will be time to drop them to the curb.
If all your friends are total slackers then you’ll just have to take things in your own hands. This is more than doable as long as you’re willing to kick yourself in the pants when you start to slack off. I like to set alarms on my phone when it’s time for me to work out and go to bed. I find it’s a lot easier to stick to my diet and workout program if I’m well rested. If I don’t get much sleep the night before that I’m much more likely to feel those binging feelings than I would if I was well rested.
Also I recommend purging your kitchen from all the junk food and tossing it in the trash once and for all. If you have junk food in your house then it’s only a matter time before you eat it. Trust me, every time I buy some Choco Tacos for my cheat day, and stick them in the freezer with the intent not to eat them it’s only a matter time before I’ll sneak down to have myself a little fiesta.

I loved these when I was a kid!
The #1 Most Important Thing If You Can’t Lose Weight
Do whatever you can to personally motivate yourself each and every day. People may be motivated by other things. If you want to look good naked and at the beach then use this motivation to push yourself through the hard times. If you want to be able to live long enough to play with your grandchildren then use that as your motivation. Whatever it is just make sure you find it and you exponentially amplify it every single day. Motivation doesn’t last for those unwilling to work at it, but if you truly want to succeed at something you need to find your why and nurture those feelings forever.

Your CommentsAlright Josh. I’ll give this a try. 2 words you’ve heard a million times. FREAKIN PLATEAU!! 5’1”. 118 lbs. 18% body fat. Almost there! Goal: leanest, meanest, strongest body possible with a booty you could sit a cup on. How’s that for honest?
Right now, I’ve got a medium amount of definition going. I can see the frame work of what I’m sweating for, so that’s good. I just need to fine tune by upping lean muscle mass and decreasing fat. I probably need to shed another 2-4% body fat to achieve that. I’m super committed but I’m also super tired of experimenting. Here’s the scoop: LOVE circuit training. Doing 3 intense sessions per week, 1 sprint or kickboxing day, 1 day with heavier weights to build glutes and legs. About to switch to high protein, high (good) fats, and low carbs. And I need to up my water game. Right track or back to the drawing board?
